![]() ![]() The sun did eventually warm things up every day, but I came prepared with a cardigan until then. I would also like to thank those folks online who advised me to bring a sweater or light jacket to handle the brisk December air in the early mornings and after dark. I used them the first few days, but the weather was so sunny that the pool felt refreshingly cool but not too cold, so I wore my regular swimsuits the rest of the time. Folks online warned me that the swimout pools might be chilly in late December, so I brought wetsuit bottoms and tops. I would also like to acknowledge the rest of the staff who labored behind the scenes to make sure this resort was perfectly clean, gorgeously landscaped, and entirely safe for us. I failed to get any of their names, but I feel grateful to all the people we saw working hard to keep our swimout pool clean and chemically balanced. For us, that meant that a pool we shared with seven other rooms was almost always uninhabited, and we got a gloriously relaxing and private swim to ourselves every day. Because the swimout pools do not receive drink service, they are underutilized. We used it every day, and never felt any interest in stepping foot in the main pool. ![]() The swimout pool was the highlight of this vacation for me. The room was far enough away from the clubs that we never heard noise late at night, yet close enough to the main building that it felt like only a short walk to everything. Every afternoon, I watched as the sun turned that sliver of ocean to molten silver. From our back patio (room 2119), we could see a small sliver of the ocean peeking between the two buildings in front of ours. We chose a non-preferred junior swimout room. ![]() Previously, we have been to Secrets Capri (twice), Secrets Silversands (RIP Silversands), and Secrets Maroma Beach. This was our fifth stay at a Secrets property. Our experience at Secrets Puerto Los Cabos exceeded that standard. We are loyal to the Secrets brand for their adults-only all-inclusive format, and for their standard of excellence. I will go back and would recommend this resort to others. Overall my experience was good at Secrets. This was a weather event that was major news all across North America and yet Secrets Los Cabos were not willing to give us a better rate. Sunwing and WestJet canceled the majority of their Canada bound flights leaving Mexico. Our flight was delayed twice and did not leave until very late into the evening. We ended up paying an extra $500 USD to stay one more night as opposed to the rate under $200 USD. When we advised Secrets Staff of the change due to the Snow storm effecting Canada, they were not willing to let us stay in our room at the rate that we where paying because our flight had not been cancelled officially by Air Canada. We opted to rebook for the following day which had us looking to stay an additional day at Secrets. Air Canada was offering to change flights free of charge up to two hours before flight. The only suggestions I have are as follows: - Ice machines for guests to access as opposed to calling room service for ice - 24 hr access to fitness facilities - Be more accommodating around extended stays due to flight delays and cancellation We had flights to go home with Air Canada, the airline advised of an incoming snow storm set to hit the GTA the day of our return. The staff were friendly and ready to serve. Food was great, facilities were well kept and clean. Great resort! We spent five days plus an extra day due to flight delays.
